DUTCH star Benito van de Pas admits he is “delighted” to get a late call-up for the Ladbrokes Players Championship.

The World No.30 was drafted into the tournament in Minehead after Mensur Suljovic pulled out due to family reasons.

Big Ben will now face Keegan Brown in the First Round in Friday’s afternoon session in the ITV4-covered event. He said: “I’m obviously delighted with the opportunity. It’s not the circumstances that I would have wanted but I need to make the most of it.

“I’ve had some good wins in the Players Championships in the past so I hope that can continue. As usual I will give it everything I’ve got.

“Keegan played very well in the Grand Slam last weekend so it will be tough. But I’m ready to face anyone and I believe I can produce a good run of wins.”

The Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals will be held from November 23-25 at the Butlin’s Minehead Resort in Somerset, live on ITV4 and through the PDC’s worldwide broadcast partners.

Whilst the televised coverage of the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals will focus on the Main Stage, play on Friday and Saturday on Stage Two will be available on PDCTV-HD for all subscribers worldwide.
