DARYL GURNEY could face his old foe John Henderson in the European Darts Matchplay.

The Northern Irishman beat Highlander on the way to his World Grand Prix success in 2018 – but also lost to the Scot in the World Championships later that year.

Henderson takes on Ryan Joyce this afternoon to see who will face Gurney on Saturday afternoon.

Gurney said: “It’s always tough against Big John. He’s a class act and if he’s on his game, he’s hard to stop.

“But I’m fired-up to have a better weekend after a disappointing one last time out.”

Jamie Hughes will also be aiming for a winning run when he takes on Wesley Plaisier in Mannheim, Germany this evening.
